Vinyl picket fences are typically white and come in a variety of sizes. Most common heights for vinyl picket fences are 4′ and 5′. Taller than that usually doesn’t look right. We have done fences as short as 3′ to meet various municpal code requirements or customer requests.
The “picket” refers to the boards in between the main posts. Typically when you refer to a picket fence, the pickets are separated from 2-3″ between them.
The example above shows a convex design, or “scallop”. There can also be concave which is the round part coming downward versus upward. Scalloped vinyl fencing gives a polished appearance for more traditional style homes.
Semi-privacy vinyl fence or semi-private vinyl fence is a popular choice when you don’t want or need full privacy, but still want some privacy. The semi-private fencing offers a very nice look for your yard and is less prone to wind damage due to the ability of wind to flow freely through it.
Semi-private vinyl fence materials come in a variety of heights, but are most common in 5′ and 6′ heights.
Semi-privacy fencing comes in white and tan, but we may be able to order additional color options such as gray and wood grain textured options.
Vinyl Privacy fencing is the most common of all the vinyl fence options. The “privacy” part refers to the inability to see through the pickets on the panels themselves. Vinyl privacy fencing offers the best privacy over any other material due to its completely closed appearance, versus wood fencing. Also, wood fencing typically shrinks or warps over time resulting in larger gaps between boards.
Vinyl privacy fencing comes in a variety of colors such as tan and white, which are the most common choices. There are also specialty colors available but they come with a 25-30% markup in pricing and also a longer lead time up to 12 weeks due to material shortages.
Vinyl privacy fence is the most expensive option, besides composite fence material. Expect a 20% increase over other materials, and a higher increase for special order colors. To learn more about our pricing, visit our fence price calculator.
